Allergic reaction to antibiotics?

I used to get ear infections a lot as a kid. I was prescribed Suprax and Cechlor once and I puffed up like crazy. I've always been on the skinny side, and those meds made me look like a chubby kid, especially around the face. My skin turned red and I itched everywhere. I don't remember throwing up but I do remember my throat feeling very swollen. That was only after a couple doses. Needless to say, we stopped that medication immediately.
